{"id":118,"date":"2025-02-28T18:21:14","date_gmt":"2025-02-28T18:21:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cgfiction.com\/?p=118"},"modified":"2025-02-28T21:21:50","modified_gmt":"2025-02-28T21:21:50","slug":"round-up-a-sale-and-reviews","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cgfiction.com\/?p=118","title":{"rendered":"Round up: a sale, and reviews"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A grab-bag of announcements today: first, very excited to say that my story &#8220;Calling on Behalf of the Dark Lord&#8221; (previously appeared in Translunar Travelers Lounge) will now be appearing in audio, as I have sold it to Cast of Wonders!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s the first sale of the year; I currently have three more stories being held for consideration, so as usual I am repeatedly refreshing the Submission Grinder in hopes of getting more information about when I might hear on those ones &#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few reviews and mentions to report, first about my most recent story, &#8220;The Heartbreaker&#8217;s Apprentice&#8221;: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Myna Chang included &#8220;The Heartbreaker&#8217;s Apprentice&#8221; in her <a href=\"https:\/\/mynachang.com\/2025\/01\/24\/flash-roundup-january-2025\/\">Flash Roundup for January 2025<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;The Heartbreaker&#8217;s Apprentice&#8221; got a very nice review (along with the rest of the Winter Folklore issue) at <a href=\"https:\/\/tangentonline.com\/e-market-monthly\/flash-fiction-online-136-january-2025\/\">Tangent Online<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Another nice mention for &#8220;The Heartbreaker&#8217;s Apprentice&#8221; at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfrevu.com\/php\/Review-id.php?id=20731\">SFRevu<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;The Heartbreaker&#8217;s Apprentice&#8221; is on Charles Payseur&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/123315410\">Queer Short SFF roundup for January 2025<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Then some older stuff, which I hadn&#8217;t seen before: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A glowing review of &#8220;The Crow Bridge&#8221; at <a href=\"https:\/\/sffreviews.com\/2024\/10\/05\/review-the-crow-bridge-by-catherine-george\/\">SFF Reviews<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A nice review of &#8220;A Test of Trouble&#8221;, <a href=\"https:\/\/nightofthehats.blogspot.com\/2022\/04\/i-read-stories-test-of-troubles-by.html\">here<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And, very pleasing to me as I love libraries, a recommendation for &#8220;Annotated Setlist of the Mikaela Cole Jazz Quintet&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.halifaxpubliclibraries.ca\/blogs\/post\/to-infinity-and-beyond-10-free-online-sci-fi-and-fantasy-magazines\/\">in an article about online SFF magazines published by the Halifax Public Libraries<\/a>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, I don&#8217;t know when this happened &#8212; I certainly hadn&#8217;t seen it before &#8212; but I have an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isfdb.org\/cgi-bin\/ea.cgi?300173+All\">entry on the ISFDB<\/a> (the Internet Science Fiction Database).
